Donating Blood is an easy thing to do with multiple benefits for Cancer Patients & a whole range of other people from surgical patients to accident victims.
A single donation can help up to 3 patients.
Directory of Blood Services around the world.
Check out your local one for more information & drop in to make donation.
There are number of reasons some people cannot give blood so why not organise a blood drive at your work/school/club instead.
I used to donate blood but then got a blood cancer so I can’t anymore so I set up CAPS to provide other people with the information to make a blood donation.
It doesn’t take to long & most places give you a drink, cookies & a cool sticker.
Getting a blood cancer sucks & the chemo sucks even more.
I needed a single blood transfusion as part of my treatment so I am grateful to the person that made that donation.
I also needed over 10 doses of platelets so I am extra grateful to all the people who donated blood to provide that.
Further more I needed a stem cell transplant which required some awesome work by the New Zealand Blood Service to collect my blood over two 6 hour sessions then do a bunch of testing & processing before freezing the good stems cells for a transfusion a few weeks later.
Every time you make a blood donation know that someone is saying a big Thank You 🙂
Every time you make a blood donation let the world know on your social media – use the hashtag #saygiddayCAPS – you are a HERO !!
